A talk by James Bond entitled Somerset Parks and Gardens. James Bond graduated in Historical Geography at Birmingham University. He rapidly developed an interest and expertise in archaeological field survey and the evolution of the English Landscape. Visit to Stogumber
Meet at 2pm in the churchyard opposite the White Horse Inn or inside the church if wet. Duration of visit: about 2 hours The main building of interest in Stogumber is St Mary’s, a large Norman church which still has mediaeval carvings on the outside and was sympathetically restored internally in the 1870’s. Tour of the Deanery Gardens in Wells
