The Archaeology of Pottery Making

March 16, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

David Dawson, our President, will give a talk based on work which he and his colleague Oliver Kent did at a site in Newport, Pembrokeshire where the remains of two large updraught kilns dating back to the late 15th or early 16th century were found.  David and Oliver are well-known authorities on the archaeology of pottery kilns and are probably better known in this area of the country for running the Bickley Ceramics Project for thirty years.

Please note: Due to the ongoing concerns over the omicron variant the talks in the Memorial Hall at Cross will be subject to the following:  chairs will be spaced to give room between them, refreshments will not be served so please bring your own and the wearing of masks is recommended.  These restrictions may, of course, be removed if appropriate.
